Year 2 had the opportunity to take part in an African art workshop to celebrate the launch of Black History Month this week.
As part of their ‘Who is the Bravest?’ theme, Year 2 have been learning about Nelson Mandela and Africa. They invited an artist into school who told them some stories from African folklore and played some traditional instruments with them. He showed the children how to create their own African prints using special stamps with different symbols on.
They really enjoyed their session and learnt a new skill! Look out for our Celebration of Learning at the end of this half term to see the fantastic artwork that the children created!
