During the Spring term, Year 5 have been taking part in a series of art workshops where they have been working alongside staff from Capital City Academy’s art department.
They were given the opportunity to create their own 3D clay sculptures inspired by the corals in our oceans.
Pupils were introduced to every aspect of the ceramic process including designing, building, firing and glazing.
As you can see, they had to really concentrate to ensure that they were able to sculpt their coral and create the fine detail needed to represent the intricate structure of this amazing creature.
Year 5 are very proud of their creations and would like to thank all of the staff at Capital City Academy for giving them the opportunity to create their sculptures.
