Today we held our harvest assembly, which gave us the opportunity to share food with our local food bank.
Organised by Year 6 Diamond Class, the pupils took the opportunity to perform a play based on the story of the King and the Apple Seed.
The play taught us to be kind, thoughtful and honest, qualities which we practice at our school.
They also helped the pupils to think about the meaning of harvest and celebrated the work of our farmers and gardeners in producing the crops as well as helping them to remember to be thankful for the food that they have.
Parents, staff and pupils enjoyed watching Diamond Class perform with confidence and enjoyed singing together at the end of the assembly whilst pupils from across the school brought their contributions to the harvest table.
Following the assembly, Diamond class delivered the contributions to Sufra, our local foodbank. They were fascinated to hear about the work that the food bank carries out to support the local community.
Thank you to all of our families being so generous with their donations and for helping to support people in our local community!
